Hearings were conducted with Ministries at Universal Society Project Team of Ruling Parties

Meeting of the policy chiefs on May 20th of Tuesday came to general agreement that Universal Society Basic Act would be submitted to the next extraordinary Diet session. Universal Society Project Team of Ruling Parties was held on May 22nd of Thursday.

The project team members are Ms. Seiko Noda, President (Lower House Member), Ms. Toshiko Hamayotsu, Vise President (Upper House Member), Ms. Yuko Obuchi, Secretary General (Lower House Member), Nami Takenaka, Instructor). Hearings for the draft of this Basic Act were conducted on this meeting.

The Cabinet Office questioned over its relationship with other basic acts, but all 13 departments participated agreed with the concept and the enactment of Universal Society Basic Act.

The Governmental Departments participated were as follows;

Cabinet Office, National Police Agency, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan, Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Defense.
